hard flooring

Laminate flooring is one of the most exciting things happening in the floor covering industry today. Laminates have been sold in Europe since the mid 80's, but are relatively new here in Australia, however their popularity is growing rapidly.

A laminate floor is a 3-part floor that consists of a wood-base core, a balancing backing & a high pressure laminate. These floors can be made to look like wood, stone, tile & other surfaces. They are extremely easy to clean & almost impossible to damage. An added feature is that laminate flooring is produced without any materials containing dioxins & thus ensures a healthy living enviroment. With its hygenic surfaces, it is the ideal floorcovering for people suffering from allergies.

Laminate products today feature a type of wear surface that resists scratching, denting & even burns better than many existing products. Many of the styles available feature wood grain-like patterns that take advantage of the popularity of hardwood. Still other styles resemble natural stone as would be found in ceramic tile. Laminates offer a cost effective trade-off for people wanting wood or ceramic. Laminate floors are more scratch resistant than wood flooring & are easier to clean than ceramic tile floors with the sometimes higher maintenance grout lines.

Another reason for the increasing popularity of laminate flooring is its ease in installation. Laminates require much less demanding preparation of the subfloor because they are not glued directly to the subfloor. Most of these products are glued or snapped together in a tongue & groove interlocking system, this feature has made laminate flooring popular in areas where vinyl flooring was traditionally installed.

Vinyl, or resilient flooring offers the perfect combination of beauty, maintenance & durability.
Modern resilient flooring has come a long way from the days of linoleum. The vinyl flooring materials available today offer a wide variety of styles, patterns & colours. Because these materials incorporate modern plastics, they can also be extremely durable. They resist scratching from normal wear & tear, & resist even tough stains.

Vinyl is often a popular choice for high traffic & well-used rooms, such as kitchens, bathrooms & recreation rooms. Most vinyl flooring offers no-wax performance & easy maintenance-vacuuming or mopping is usually all that is necessary.

Vinyl is now available in 2 types, planks and sheets. Planks are very similar to Laminate boards, except they are vinyl.  They are made to look like many different textures such as timber, stone and concrete, whilst still maintaining the durability of vinyl.
Vinyl sheets are available in 2 meter, 3 meter and 4 meter wide rolls, depending on your room size and vinyl selection. Come in to the warehouse to chose from our wide variety of both Vinyl planks and sheet vinyl.
